Buckeyes, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and a roadside attraction that is the World's Largest Picnic Basket... the December box takes us to the state of Ohio!
December's featured book is Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld. This retelling of Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice, takes us to Cincinatti and a modern Bennet family with familiar troubles. Sittenfeld is one of my favorite contemporary authors and if you have not read any of her books, you are in for a treat!
Our indie bookstore collaboration is with Wheatberry Books. Wheatberry books is located in historic downtown Chillicothe. They were kind to send us their branded store bookmarks and we have also included their wooden holiday ornament in this month's box.
Pride and Prejudice character page flags are included as a nod to Eligible's theme. Marsha's Buckeyes are a delicious nutty confection that come from Perrysburg, Ohio. Marsha's Buckeyes is a small businesses that makes their treats from an old family recipe. Finally, we have our book themed sticker for December, an adorable winter-clad fox sitting on a stack of books.
