January Literary Road Trip Box

Books Inside Boxes Literary Road Trip Box for January 2025- Themed to Montana

One of my favorite parts of creating these book boxes is looking up facts for each state to include in the box letter and use as a teaser question for social media. The January box is themed to Montana and Montana has an absolutely wild fact. In Missoula in 1887, the World's Largest Snow Flake ever recorded was discovered. It was fifteen inches in diameter!!! Can you even imagine that? Here in Colorado, we just had a big snow storm and the flakes couldn't have been bigger than a dime. I kept thinking of the Montana fact, as I watched the snow fall.

Christine Carbo's thriller The Wild Inside is the January featured book. This is Carbo's first book in her series featuring Monty Harris, a park ranger in Glacier National Park. The WIld Inside was Carbo's debut novel and it quickly garnered wide praise and multiple award nominations. This exciting story will put readers in the thick of a rugged and gorgeous terrain with danger at every turn.

The January indie bookstore partner is Shakespeare & Co. Located in Missoula, this indie takes its name from the famed bookstore in Paris. Although not associated with the Paris store, it follows the tradition of many bookstores using this moniker in tribute. The Missoula Shakespeare & Co opened in 1998 and we have included their beautiful store postcard in this month's box. A longer post exploring this wonderful indie bookstore will come later in the month.

Keeping with the theme of Glacier National Park we have a jar of Glacier Park Sunrise loose leaf tea from the Montana Farmacy. The Montana Farmacy opened in 2007 and they have an old-fashioned mercantile style store in Eureka. You can visit their store and shop for products like their tea, balsamics, and candles. In case you don't already own a tea infuser, we've included a tea egg from Simpson & Vail. Simpson and Vail opened in 1929 and they are one of the oldest tea companies in the United States. I've enjoyed their tea for years, especially their dessert tea line. It's delicious.

Let's get organized with our book spending funds. A themed canvas bag from The Curious Catbird. The Curious Catbird is a design business that opened in Easton, Pennsylvania in 2011. I can relate to the statement from the owner, who mentions that her company is "mostly a one woman show, with occasional help from my cats." This also is an apt description for Books Inside Boxes.

Stay warm and cosy this January with our Montana Literary Road Trip Box.
