Our November Literary Road Trip Box takes us to the birthplace of author Willa Cather, the home of the invention of Kool-Aid, and the location of Carhenge, a roadside attraction that is a replica of Stonehenge, only made from tipped cars! For November, we head to the "Cornhusker State"- Nebraska!
The Swan Gondola by Timothy Schaffert is our featured book for November. Set during the 1898 Omaha World's Faire, this is a cozy story for fall with a bit of romance, a bit of magic, and a touch of mystery.
November's indie bookstore partner is The Next Chapter Books and Gifts located in Omaha. This bookstore originally opened as Prarie Books and Gifts, running for over four decades, before the original owners retired. The daughter of the owners took over the business and rebranded it into The Next Chapter Books and Gifts. A longer blog post about this incredible indie will be coming later this month. Their store logo drink koozies are included in this month's box.
Enjoy a seasonal treat from Tasty Good Toffee. Tasty Good Toffee is a company located in Lincoln, Nebraska, and they have been making small-batch confections using their grandmother's toffee recipe. We've included a bag of their pumpkin spice toffee in the November box.
Keep track of important passages in your books with a set of autumn themed page flags from Girl of All Work. Girl of All Work was established in 2007 by designer Dyna Kau. Kau graduated from Art Center College of Design and her creations can be found in boutiques and museum gift shops.
Who doesn't love stickers? An autumn bookshop themed sticker from Footnotes. Started in 2014 by a pair of former advertising agents, Footnotes is a design company located in Brooklyn, New York.
